Are you looking for the best airstyler? The MAE Airstyler 5-in-1 is a great choice to consider. The Airstyler 5-in-1 is a styling tool that allows you to style your hair in various ways. In this blog, we will compare the MAE Airstyler 5-in-1 with the Philips Airstyler.

The Philips Airstyler
Philips has multiple variants of airstylers. The most well-known is the Philips Hair Dryer Brush, which consists of several attachments. The attachments include:
- Concentrator nozzle
- Flat straightener brush
- Round brush
- Volumizer
- Heated round brush
With the Philips hair dryer brush, you can dry and style your hair simultaneously.
Review: Philips Airstyler 3000
A well-known hair dryer brush from Philips is the Philips Airstyler 3000, also known as the BHA305/00. This variant, unlike other airstylers, only has three attachments:
- Concentrator nozzle
- Round brush
- Heated round brush
The unique element of the Philips Airstyler 3000 is its brush with retractable bristles, which allows it to function as both a hair dryer brush and a curling iron. However, in practice, this attachment does not seem to offer a significantly different effect than the round brush. The curl is just as tight and doesn't last as long.

The Philips Airstyler 3000 is an option if you are looking for a hair dryer brush, but if you want tighter curls that last longer, we recommend an alternative: the MAE Airstyler.
Review: Philips Airstyler HP8656
Besides the Airstyler 3000 from Philips, the HP8656 is a well-known hair dryer brush. This one has multiple attachments, namely five. These are similar to the variant described above, with the addition of a volumizer and a flat brush.
The volumizer genuinely creates a lot of volume in the short term, but unfortunately, it deflates quite quickly. The flat brush is a good addition if you are looking to style natural hair. This attachment functions as an excellent straightener.
The Philips Airstyler HP8656 is a better option than the cheaper Philips variant, but it does not fully replace a real curling iron.
MAE Airstyler 5-in-1 vs. Philips Airstyler: The difference
In summary, both products are good choices. If you are purely looking for a hair dryer brush, the Philips variants are a good option. If you want more options and the ability to create different styles, we recommend the MAE Airstyler 5-in-1. The advantages of the MAE Airstyler are:
- With MAE, you always receive five attachments instead of three, namely the following:
Airstyler 30mm left, Airstyler 30mm right, Dryer base, Flat dryer brush, Pre-styling hair dryer, Round volume brush;
- With MAE, you also receive a heat-protective glove, a manual, and access to our tutorials on how to best use the product;
- The MAE Airstyler consists of airwrap attachments with special technology for better curls. The airstyler attachments contain coanda technology and negative ions, which result in less heat damage to your hair;
- The MAE Airstyler creates tighter curls that last longer;
- The Philips Airstyler is cheaper, but you receive less for the price.

In summary, both airstylers are good options if you're looking for a hair dryer brush, but we are big fans of MAE's airstylers. Of course, we are a bit biased.
At MAE, we are committed to continuous learning, development, and constant improvement of our products. That's why we keep testing and sharing our findings with you.
